SELECTING THE CORRECT SIZE PET DOOR

There are Cat Flaps and Dog Doors available in 5 different sizes, generally indicated by shoulder height of your pet, i.e. from bottom of paw to top of shoulder and weight of your pet. If pet is borderline in fitting through a certain size pet door, it would generally be recommended to select one size larger to avoid replacing the Pet Door at a later date should your pet put on some weight. These sizes are as follows:
   

SMALL:
Up to 260mm shoulder height

Suits most cats up to 7kg, and very small dogs up to 2kg

STANDARD:
Up to 360mm shoulder height

Suits small dogs up to 10kg, such as Toy Poodles, Pomeranians, Chihuahuas, Maltese, Yorkshire Terriers, Cavalier King Charles Spaniels, and Miniature Dachshunds; as well as all cats, including the largest of cats

   

MEDIUM:
Up to 460mm shoulder height

Suits medium size dogs, such as such as Beagles, Poodles and Cocker Spaniels, Terriers and Miniature Schnausers up to 20kg

LARGE:
Up to 630mm shoulder height

Suits large dogs such as Golden Retrievers, Boxers, German Shepherds, Doberman Pinschers and Rottweilers up to 45kg

   

EXTRA-LARGE:
Up to 800mm shoulder height

Suits Extra Large Dogs such as Great Danes, Saint Bernards, Newfoundlands, Mastiffs, Large Shepherds, Large Dobermans and Large Rottweilers up to 100kg
